True Expression was started in 2007 in beautiful Dunedin; New Zealand's first city for innovative fashion.
There are many approaches you can take in finding the answers to your wardrobe questions. There are books, magazines, TV programs, websites and store displays, all available to give you information on 'looking your best'.
What makes True Expression different is that you are given the tools to become your own style expert. You will be given specific answers to your questions that are clear, logical, and most importantly, practical for your life in the real world.
True Expression provides flexible services that are tailored to your specific goals. Whether you need one-off advice, or support for a complete change.
There are a range of options of how you would like to learn, whether you prefer working one-on-one, or sharing the experience with others. You also have the choice of where you prefer to have your consultations; either the comfort of your own home, or feel welcomed into ours in Kaikorai, a short drive from the centre of town.

Fiona Jenkin
My love of clothing developed at a very early age, playing dress-ups in the Mayfair Theatre's costume department, where my mother was wardrobe mistress. Growing up and dressing for the real world however, I have experienced all the headaches of struggling to know what to wear, and feeling frustrated with 'making do'.
Studying the solutions to my own issues grew to a passion for helping others to develop their own style confidence.
My approach is to gently help you see the logical and practical way forward. You will not find a 'Trinny or Susanna' when you call, but a professional, down to earth consultant who can tell you what you need to know without judgment, controversy or confusion. This is for you, not a TV audience!
My background includes:
- Bachelor of Consumer and Applied Sciences, Otago University: Clothing and Textile Sciences (major); Design Studies; Education; and Theatre.
- Papers in Certificate of Fashion Studies, Otago Polytechnic: Pattern Making, Garment Construction and Textile Embellishment.
- Aoraki polytechnic: Certificate in Beauty Skills (introductory).
- Colour Me Beautiful NZ: Colour and Style Analysis.
- Tutor with A.C.E. at Kaikorai Valley College, providing programs on personal colour and style.
- 10 years work experience in the local fashion industry, from manufacture to retail.
- Member of the Otago Chamber of Commerce.
- Member of the New Zealand Federation of Image Professionals.
My other passions include my wonderful husband; walking; dancing; watching old movies; reading; sewing and craft work; and being involved in our local church.
